Sikament® RB 866

HIGH RANGE WATER-REDUCING SUPERPLASTICIZING ADMIXTURE

Sikament® RB 866 is a ready-to-use, high range water reducing agent designed to produce high slump concrete. This is a ready to use chloride free liquid admixture and meets ASTM C494/494M requirements for type F and AS1478 requirements for High Range Water-Reducing Admixtures.

Product Details

Composition

Aqueous solution of naphthalene sulfonates

Shelf life

12 months from date of production if stored properly in undamaged, unopened, original sealed packaging.

Storage conditions

Store in dry conditions at temperatures between +5 °C and +35 °C. Protect from direct sunlight and frost.

Compatibility

Sikament® RB 866 may be combined with the following products:

  • Sika® Plastocrete®
  • Sika® Plastiment®
  • SikaFume®
  • SikaFiber®

Do not use sikament series combined with viscocrete/viscoflow series.
Pre-trials are recommended and mandatory if combinations with the above products are required.

Concreting guidance

The standard rules of good concreting practice, concerning production and placing, are to be followed.
Laboratory trials before concreting on site are strongly recommended when using a new mix design or producing new concrete components.
Fresh concrete must be cured properly and as early as possible.

 

Application

Recommended dosage

0.5 – 2.0 L per 100 Kg of cementitious.
Other dosages may also be used depending on the specific working conditions. Trial mixes should be made with job materials to determine the
optimum dosage required for a specified job requirement.

APPLICATION

The addition of Sikament® RB 866 to a dry mix is not recommended. Sikament® RB 866 can be dosed either at the batching plant or at the placing site. At the batching plant, introduce Sikament® RB 866 at the specified dosage directly into the mixer through a dispenser along with mixing water, when the concrete is thoroughly wetted (i.e. after adding at least 75% of the mixing water) and mix for at least 3 minutes. If added at the placing site, mix for at least 3 minutes after the addition.
