Pumpable and pourable mortar for flooring overlay

Sikafloor® QuartzTop-135 PG (ID) is a ready-to-use, pumpable, pourable, screedable, and high-strength cement-based overlay for indoor and outdoor flooring.Sikafloor® QuartzTop-135 PG (ID) is suitable for levelling rough and uneven concrete floors in a thickness layer from 10 - 20 mm. Sikafloor® QuartzTop-135 PG (ID) is formulated with Portland cement, reinforced with synthetic fibers and aggregates.

  • An economical, ready-to-use cement-based flooring overlay, that hardens free of bleeding at following consistency: from flowable to high plastic.
  • A mortar that retains good workability for approximately 20 minutes at +30 °C.
  • A ready-to-use product, water is added on site.
  • The use of a high-yield mortar pump (screw pump) allows the prepared product to be pumped without segregation. Please conduct on-site trial to conform the compatibility of the pumping machine.
  • Can simply be poured out and distributed.
  • The mortar will cure without blistering.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

  • Prepare substrates and remove separation and sinter layers mechanically by selecting and using abrasive blast cleaning, grinding or planing / scarifying equipment for the type of substrate.
  • The final texture of the substrate must be open textured and gripping.
  • Remove weak cementitious and levelling layers. Surface defects such as blow holes and voids must be fully exposed using the surface preparation equipment.
  • Use products from the Sikafloor®, Sikadur® and Sikagard® range of materials to level the surface or fill cracks, blow holes and voids. Contact Sika Technical Services for additional information on products for levelling and repairing defects.
  • Use industrial vacuuming equipment to remove all dust, loose and friable material from the application surface before applying the product.
  • To improve the adhesion and provide a pore free surface for subsequent coverings, use suitable bonding agent.

MIXING

Important:
Do not add more than 3 – 3.25 liters of water to 25 kg of powder.

Do not mix or blend with other binders.

In case of higher water temperature, the water could be cooled down by using clean ice. Requirement: Use an electric single or double paddle mixer (< 600 rpm) with helical disc-shaped mixing paddle.

  • Pour ~3 – 3.25 of clean water into a clean mixing container.
  • Mix the water slowly while gradually adding the complete bag of powder.
  • Mix continuously for ~3 minutes to achieve a smooth, uniform mix. If necessary, adjust water content ratio in range to achieve the required consistency.
  • To allow entrained air to escape and mature, pour mixed materials into another container or leave mixed for a further ~15 to 30 seconds. Then Pour the mixed product onto the prepared concrete substrate.
 

APPLICATION

Important:
To reduce the risk of cracking, protect freshly applied product from high ambient temperatures, direct sunlight and draughts.

Like any other cementitious floor product, good jointing and curing practice must be implemented to minimize surface crack.

  • Pour the mixed product onto the substrate. Spread the product evenly using a smoothing trowel, surface blade, screed rake or pin-leveller (pin-rake) to the required thickness.
  • Allow product to smoothen over the substrate. If required, spike roller immediately to remove any trowel marks or surface defects.
  • Product can be pumped with the suitable equipment.

CLEANING OF EQUIPMENT

Clean all tools and application equipment with water immediately after use. Hardened material can only be mechanically removed.
