Flexoplast®

BITUMINOUS PROTECTIVE COATING

Flexoplast® is a single component protective coating of pasty consistency based on bituminous binders.
Suitable for tropical and hot climatic conditions.

Flexoplast® is easily applied to both dry and damp surfaces. Other beneficial properties are:
  • Ready to use, no mixing or heating.
  • Excellent adhesion to concrete.
  • Non-sag on vertical surfaces (Thixotropic paste)
  • Good resistance to soil acids, salt-water attack.

Usage

Flexoplast® is used to protect concrete from soil as damp-proofing membrane.
For example:
  • Civil engineering foundations
  • External basement walls
  • Retaining walls, etc.

Consumption

Consumption

Depending on type of structure and degree of protection required:
0.5 – 1.0 L/m2/ coat, with minimum 2 coats are recommended, higher rate of coverage is required depending on the porosity of the substrate.

It can be built-up from 1 mm and up to 3 mm by adding more coats.
Application steps

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

All surfaces shall be made on the area by removing loose and friable material, protrusions by using soft broom stick or cleaning with water to remove fine dust from the surface. Oil, grease and paints or other contaminates shall be removed by using rug cloth and paint scraper respectively.

MIXING

Drums might need to be stirred well before use if stored for long time.

APPLICATION

Flexoplast® should be applied by brush or roller or trowel.

CLEANING OF EQUIPMENT

Clean all tools and equipment immediately after use with water (wet) or thinner (cured)
